Get started
Open an entry, explore its connections, and compare it with another.
Start with one entry, then use its connections to explore. You can follow this guide without an account.
If you arrive at the site's welcome screen, choose Browse the catalog or continue through the introduction. A link to a specific entry or view opens that page directly.
In the Catalog, open a category such as Buildings, or choose Browse all. You can also search by name. For a starting example in this demo, try Barcelona Pavilion.
Open a card to see its entry page. Start with the description and facts, then look at Links and sources and Connections.
The Links and sources panel groups external records under Anchors, additional reading under Read more, and citations under Sources. A source badge beside a fact links to its reference. Unsourced means no citation is attached to that fact.
If you see Proposed, the record is still awaiting review. A separately marked draft description has not yet been approved either.
Open a connected entry to continue browsing. For a wider view, choose Explore this connection map from the entry's network panel.
The connection map places your chosen entry in the center. Select a surrounding entry to explore from there. Why they're connected lists the recorded explanations. Select the center entry to open its catalog page.
Use View as to switch between Catalog, Timeline, Map, Scatter, and Network. A focused entry carries into the next view where the data supports it. If it cannot be drawn, the view explains why.
See Using the views for controls and examples.
Return to a catalog listing in Cards layout. Select the Compare button (⇄) on two cards, then choose Open compare in the tray at the bottom.
Compare aligns the entries' facts in rows. A ◆ identifies a comparable field; source badges link to references. Check the units as well as the numbers.
Your selection stays while you browse the site. Reloading clears the selection tray.
Open Stories for a guided exploration, or choose another entry and follow its connections. If you encounter unfamiliar terms, the Glossary has short definitions.
